VISION
The vision of the Committee is to become a preeminent global group in Taiwan, focusing on crucial technologies for high-tech facilities.
OBJECTIVES
- To integrate relevant resources of high-tech facilities in Taiwan and abroad.
- To reinforce the foundation of Taiwan's high-tech facility industries.
- To advance crucial technologies through R&D collaboration.
- To facilitate standardization.
THE IMPORTANCE OF HIGH-TECH FACILITY
The significant development of high-tech industries in Taiwan greatly enhances the Taiwanese international competitiveness, promotes Taiwanese industries upgrades, drives the growth of other industries and actuates the local economic growth. Because of the remarkable manufacturing process, technology innovation and breakthrough, the Taiwanese high-tech industry has a profound impact and the considerable contribution to the global high-tech industry development.
The progress of high technology actuates the expansion of knowledge and the improvement of economic, human life and the environment, these improvements are inevitable. However, one of the indispensable prerequisites of the high-tech development is to continue to enhance the design, construction, commissioning, validation, transfer and management of the high-tech facility. The demand of high-performance production tools, sophisticated detection equipment, stable platform, ultra-pure water and utilities are strongly and inevitably needed for R&D&M, those tools must be housed in stringently controlled clean rooms and/or operated on stable platforms; therefore, the design, construction, validation, and transfer to use of clean room and other high-tech facilities are the key factors. In other words, high-tech facility affects directly the manufacturing yielding rate and production costs.
High-tech facilities are also the key factors to advance technology for other related industries, such as wafer, panel, OLED and so forth. It is very likely that international semiconductor industry will soon complete the pilot testing of 3 to 2 nano-meter and 18-inch (450mm, 18") wafer manufacturing process. Moreover, biomedical technologies rapidly transforming the healthcare industry and our daily lives. All these new developments need high tech facility to sustain their further advancement.
